When I imagined teaching my crazy son how to perform wudu, I had an image in my head of the bathroom being soaked in water and my son giggling like a madman. That's probably because every time he takes a bath that's what happens. This kid loves water!
Since he just turned four right before Ramadan, I thought I would give it a go. The first thing I did was search for a diagram to help him out. Since he can't read, I wanted something with images. This website had exactly what I needed!
I printed out two and put one in each bathroom on the mirror. When Kyle got home from school that day, I explained that Ramadan was just around the corner and now that he is a BIG boy, he needs to learn how to do wudu. He was super excited and I braced myself for an attempted water fight.
To my shock, he was surprisingly chill and uber responsible yet excited about the whole thing. He carefully followed the diagram and wanted to practice again and again. Besides the duaa at the end, he mastered it all in a day (as long as he had the chart to still guide him). Now two weeks later, he's performing wudu every day before Maghrib prayer. Ma Sha Allah I'm so proud of him. Plus my bathroom hasn't been soaked either so that's a relief!
